Set the bowl to the side. Clean your cutting board, countertop, or whatever surface you're working on and dry it off. Lightly sprinkle flour on your surface and pull your dough out of the bowl onto the floured surface. Note: Sprinkling flour on your work surface will prevent the dough from sticking to it. |

Now it's time to color the remaining 1/4 cup of milk. In a small bowl, add a small amount of red gel food coloring to the milk and stir or whisk it until the milk turns pink. If you want a more red color, add more red gel food coloring. Tip: You want to use a gel food coloring because it will not water down your milk. If you use liquid food coloring you will need to use less milk. |

Sprinkle more flour on your work surface and place the first, uncolored dough, onto the surface. Press down on the dough to sort of flatten it a little so it's easier to roll out. Sprinkle a little flour over the top of the dough. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough to about 1/4" to 1/2" thickness. Tip: Be sure your cookie cutter will cut through the thickness you roll out. You can even use a ruler to measure the height of your cookie cutter to make sure you roll the dough out to the correct thickness. |

Great job!!! You're almost there! Now, let's get your pan ready! Cut a piece of parchment paper to a size that fits your cookie sheet or baking pan. Note: Using parchment paper will do three things. One, it will prevent the bottoms of your biscuits from browning too quickly. Two, your biscuits will come right off the paper without having to use a spatula. Third, your pan will be so much easier to clean! Saving you time and energy. |

I heart this part! Get it? (smile) Ok, back to the instructions. Use the small heart-shaped cookie cutter and cut out hearts from the center of the large circles. Place the small hearts you've cut out onto your cookie sheet or baking pan. The hearts you cut out here can be baked as mini heart biscuits to go along with the main attraction. |

Sprinkle more flour on your work surface and place the pink/red dough onto the surface. Press down on the dough to sort of flatten it a little. Using a rolling pin, begin rolling the dough out to the same thickness as you cut the large circles. Note: You want the thickness the same so that when you place the small heart inside the large circle they will bake to the same height. |
