On a cutting board and using a sharp knife, carefully, slice the avocado in half. The safest way to do this is to stand the avocado up on the fat end of the fruit and slowly cut down on the top center until you reach the seed. Then, while the knife is still in the avocado, slowly turn the fruit while keeping the knife against the seed inside until you've sliced the avocado in half. Repeat until you've cut all 4 avocados. |

Now that you've cut the avocados in half, using your knife, carefully stab the center of the seed and twist it out of the fruit. Throw the seed away. |

On the cutting board, cut both ends of the red onion off and throw the ends away. Cut the onion in half. You need only half of the onion for this recipe, so store the other half in a ziplock bag in the refrigerator. Slice the onion into strips. Lay the strips on top of each other and cut across to dice the onion. Add the diced onion to the mixing bowl. |

Now add the black pepper, salt, garlic powder, salsa, and lime juice to the mixing bowl. Using a wooden spoon, gently stir the ingredients together so you don't break up the avocado chunks up too much. However, if you prefer a creamier, less chunky, version of guacamole, stir more to mash the avocados. |

And, you're done! Serve immediately with your favorite chips! I personally love TOSTITOS Scoops Tortilla Chips because they are simply delicious and firm enough to hold this hearty guacamole. ENJOY! *If you have any left over guacamole, you can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. If you see juices in the container after refrigeration, no worries, the juice is from the tomatoes and onions, just stir the guacamole to bring it back together. Remember, I want you to be proud to serve this dish, so if you need help let me know by logging in and leaving a comment! |
