This Smothered Cabbage with Bacon recipe is super easy and delicious! You might want to double the batch, it’s that good (if I say so myself, lol!)

And, if you love broccoli, then you’ve got to try my Broccoli & Cheese Casserole Recipe!

Steps

1
Done

On a cutting board, chop the cabbage into small pieces. Place the chopped cabbage in a large bowl and set it aside for now.

2
Done

On the same cutting board, cut the bacon into small pieces.

3
Done

Heat your pot to medium-high heat. Add the bacon pieces, seasoning blend, and garlic to the pot and fry until the bacon is crispy and the veggies are tender.

*When the bacon is crispy, do not drain the bacon fat from the pot. The bacon fat adds flavor and will keep the cabbage from sticking to the pot as we smother it.

4
Done

Now, add the chopped cabbage, salt, pepper, sugar and water to the pot.

Stir all of the ingredients together, cover and cook, on medium-high heat, for 15 minutes.

5
Done

Uncover and continue to cook the cabbage for 20 more minutes.

Of course, you'll want to stir the cabbage around a couple of times so it doesn't stick to the pot.

Serve warm. Bon Appetit!
